• The hunt will move off at 11:00am, after announcements. Plan to be mounted and ready around 10:50am. Riders will be out for approximately 2 hours.

• Waredaca: 4015 Damascus Rd, Laytonsville, MD 20882​ (Parking will be in the field at the corner of Damascus Rd and Howard Chapel Rd)

Details

• Join Goshen Hounds for our annual Junior Hunt. Participation in the Junior Hunt is open to all junior riders and their parents. Riders of all abilities will be accommodated in various fields.

• Breakfast to follow after the hunt.

• Cost - FREE for juniors and their parent

Fields​

• First field will jump small fences and riders will be expected to walk, trot, canter, gallop and jump natural obstacles and coops

• Second field (walk, trot, canter, and over small natural obstacles)

• Third field (walk, trot)

• Hilltopping (walk, leadline)

Attire

•  An approved helmet and appropriate footwear is a must for riders. Formal or Ratcatcher fox chasing attire is recommended but not required. Click here for more information on attire.

Horses/Ponies

• Ponies and horses should be turned out smartly for a day of hunting. 

​

Riders

• Participants will be under the age of 21. Adult riders are welcome to accompany their children and/or lead ponies in the hill topping field. All participants including adults must submit signed release forms (Click Here for the Goshen Waiver)
